The Polygyros Archaeological Museum houses exhibits from all over Chalkidiki. In the museum’s spaces, it holds three permanent exhibitions: one with findings from the most important archaeological sites of the prefecture, one with findings from the three colonies of Andros in Chalkidiki, Stageira, Akanthos and Sani, as well as the exhibition of the Lambropoulos Collection.
The Asclepium was since the ancient times the most famous monument of Kos. It was located close to the ancient city, and was full of marvelous statues, works of famous artists.
The paleontological collection of the Municipality of Rethymnon, which consists of findings from excavations from all over the prefecture by German scientist Siegfired Kuss (University of Freiburg), will form the basis of the exhibition. The Goulandris foundation has been looking after this collection in collaboration with the University of Athens (Historical Geology and Palaeontology Faculty).
The Tegea Archaeological Museum is a place where the visitor can enjoy works belonging to the highest inspiration times of ancient Greek sculpture.
