First performance of E. DI.PE.K. was the “Sacrifice of Abraham” the B. Kornaros, with director and actor Alexis Minoti. The vision thrives and the Company Theater Crete leverages the capabilities of the Greek work by the end of the 19th century and that of our days. Raises the work:“Erotokritos“,“Panoria”(or theGiparis), “Next”, “Kouros”, “Erofili”, “Fourtounatos”.Parallel runs and many other cultural events such as concerts and four prefectures of Crete with the late Manos Hatzidakis, speeches throughout the island of Crete on mainly the theater and theatrical seminars.
The Megara Archaeological Museum opened in 2-4-2000 to house the antiquities that come from the digs of the city and the surrounding area.
In 1927, the first Delphi Celebrations were organized by Aggelos and Eva Sikelianou. The poet visualized an international centre, where a «league of select few» will meet, just as in ancient times, in order to ease the controversies between nations and to ensure global and permanent peace (Delphic Idea).
The paleontological collection of the Municipality of Rethymnon, which consists of findings from excavations from all over the prefecture by German scientist Siegfired Kuss (University of Freiburg), will form the basis of the exhibition. The Goulandris foundation has been looking after this collection in collaboration with the University of Athens (Historical Geology and Palaeontology Faculty).
