The Museum of Delos was built in 1904, at the expense of the Athens Archeological Company.The Museum’s exhibition includes nine rooms.
Nowadays, the Museum’s exhibition includes nine rooms: In six of them are exhibited the sculptures and engravings that were found in Delos, one of the world’s finest collections. Two rooms include prehistoric to hysterohellenic times jars, and in another room various small objects and artifacts that were found in the private residences of Delos are showcased.
The most important monument of the era of the Knights in Rhodes, is the Palace of the Great Magistrate. During the 1930’s, while under Italian occupation, the building acquired its modern form, being the commanding center as well as the house of the Italian Commander. The mosaic floors of the floor are amazing.
Although Crete hosts one-quarter of Greece’s annual visitors, it’s still possible to escape the crowds by heading south. Thanks to the rugged mountains that stretch across much of the island’s spine, southern Crete remains a place apart.
